DAY 1 - Arrival at Srinagar & Local sightseeing
Local Sightseeing Places 1. Dal Lake One of the most famous lakes in Kashmir, Dal Lake is known for its scenic beauty, floating gardens, and traditional houseboats. Here you will enjoy a relaxing Shikara ride, which gives you a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and Mughal gardens. 2. Mughal Gardens These historic gardens were built during the Mughal era and are famous for their Persian-style landscaping. • Shalimar Bagh – Built by Emperor Jahangir for his wife Noor Jahan. • Nishat Bagh – Known as the “Garden of Joy,” offering stunning views of Dal Lake. • Chashme Shahi – Famous for its natural spring water and peaceful atmosphere. 3. Shankaracharya Temple Located on a hilltop, this ancient temple provides a panoramic view of Srinagar city and Dal Lake. 4. Hazratbal Shrine A very sacred Muslim shrine located on the banks of Dal Lake. It houses a relic believed to be a hair of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Travel Time: • Srinagar Airport to Hotel: approx 30–40 minutes (12–15 km) • Local sightseeing travel: approx 20–25 km total Evening: In the evening you can explore the local markets of Srinagar for Kashmiri handicrafts, dry fruits, shawls, and souvenirs.
DAY 2 - Srinagar to Sonmarg (Day Trip)
Sonamarg is one of the most beautiful valleys in Kashmir, located about 80 km from Srinagar. The name Sonamarg means “Meadow of Gold.” It is famous for glaciers, snow-covered mountains, and river views. ? Morning Departure After breakfast, start your journey from Srinagar to Sonamarg. The drive takes around 2.5 – 3 hours along the scenic Sindh Valley. On the way you will see beautiful villages, rivers, and snow-capped mountains.
DAY 3 - Srinagar to Gulmarg (Day Trip)
Gulmarg is one of the most famous hill stations in Kashmir, known for its snow-covered mountains, green meadows, and adventure activities. It is located about 50 km from Srinagar. ? Morning Departure After breakfast, drive from Srinagar to Gulmarg. The journey takes around 2 – 2.5 hours through beautiful villages and pine forests. On the way you will pass through Tangmarg, a small town before Gulmarg.
DAY 4 - Srinagar to Doodhpathri –
Srinagar to Doodhpathri – Description ? Srinagar to Doodhpathri is one of the most beautiful and peaceful day trips in Kashmir. Located in the Budgam district, Doodhpathri is around 42–45 km from Srinagar and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours by road. The journey passes through charming villages like Budgam, Khansahib, and Raiyar, offering scenic views of lush green fields, traditional Kashmiri houses, and mountains in the background. The road is smooth in most parts, with a slightly narrow stretch as you approach the destination. Doodhpathri, meaning “Valley of Milk,” is famous for its vast green meadows, dense pine forests, and a beautiful river that flows through the valley. The water of the stream appears milky white due to its rapid flow over rocks, which gives the place its unique name. It is an ideal destination for nature lovers and those looking for a calm and less crowded place compared to Gulmarg or Pahalgam. Visitors can enjoy leisure walks along the river, pony rides, photography, and relaxing in the fresh mountain air. Doodhpathri is best suited for a same-day return trip from Srinagar, making it a perfect addition to any Kashmir itinerary. DAY 5 - Srinagar to Pahalgam (Night Stay)
Pahalgam is one of the most beautiful valleys in Kashmir, known as the “Valley of Shepherds.” It is located about 90 km from Srinagar and is famous for rivers, pine forests, and scenic valleys. ? Morning Departure After breakfast, drive from Srinagar to Pahalgam. The journey takes around 2.5 – 3 hours.
